Cat at Play

[October 2024 - December 2024]
I wanted to recreate Henriëtte Ronner-Knip's painting "Cat at Play". I admire her paintings for how beautifully they capture the essence of cats and her deep affection for them. I own two cats myself so I decided this was the perfect occasion to explore cat anatomy and fur.
I sculpted the cat and the cigar in Zbrush and the rest I modeled in Maya. I textured everything in Substance Painter and rendered the final result in Arnold. For the curtains, I decided to tackle ornate fabrics in Substance Designer to imitate the floral design from the painting. The fur was made with Xgen with guides and clumping modifiers.
